DESCRIPTION:The subject of quantum computing generically refers to the use
  of quantum mechanical effects to provide striking novel possibilities for
  many aspects of information processing\, communication and information se
 curity. It is currently at a very exciting stage since our quantum impleme
 ntational capabilities are after much worldwide effort\, now on the verge 
 of precipitating a revolution in technology\, through the marketable imple
 mentation of the benefits of quantum computing. In this talk we will provi
 de a brief tour of the subject including some of its key ingredients\, app
 lications and future prospects.
