DESCRIPTION:Metaphysics may be ruled out in the day-to-day experimental pr
actice of science\, but what about the questions that science points towar
ds? Thinking about value\, meaning and purpose is an integral part of bein
g human\, and some aspects of science bring these ideas to the fore. This
is where the really interesting dialogue between science and religion can
take place. What questions is science raising at the moment for researcher
s\, and what can people of faith – particularly those working in science
  – contribute to the conversation? Dr Ruth Bancewicz is currently lookin
g at a number of areas of biology\, including the origin of the genetic co
 de\, active matter\, cooperation\, and ecology\, all of which raise some f
ascinating and perhaps controversial questions for humankind.\n\nDr Bancew
icz is a Senior Research Associate at The Faraday Institute for Science an
 d Religion.
