DESCRIPTION:Throughout history forced mass movements of people have create
 d heritage\, at the time and retrospectively. Sites left behind are reused
  or fall into ruin\, objects are taken on journeys\, cultural practices ar
 e introduced into new environments. Later\, return may be attempted in var
 ious way\, through repatriation for instance. In this symposium we will ex
 plore the heritage of these displacements with a particular focus on the M
 editerranean region from pre-history till today. \n\nThe conference will i
 nclude an exhibition of “Another Day Lost and counting…” by Syrian a
 rtist Issam Kourbaj\, the performance of Ladino songs by Jessica Marlow\, 
 and a lunch inspired by Mediterranean culinary heritage. \n\nTo register f
