DESCRIPTION:Eating meat\, especially processed meat\, has been the topic o
f huge controversy recently – in October 2015 a World Health Organisatio
n (WHO) report linked it to cancer. There is also growing awareness of the
impact rearing cattle for beef has on climate change\, as highlighted by
the current Meat Free May campaign run by Friends of the Earth.\n\nHowever
\, what are the facts? As part of the Eat Cambridge festival\, Cambridge C
arbon Footprint are holding a talk and panel discussion that will investig
ate the health\, welfare and environmental issues related to our ever incr
easing consumption of meat. Are there solutions out there? How might we ea
t in the future? What technologies\, policies and behaviour change might h
elp? \n\nThis free talk and debate will be held on Tuesday 17th May at 7.
30pm in the ‘The Divinity School’ at St John’s College. Speakers wil
l include leading figures on food sustainability Tara Garnett (founder of
the Food Climate Research Network) and Clare Oxborrow (Head of the Land\,
Food and Water Team at Friends of the Earth). Local expert Angelika von He
imendahl (Grazier and owner of Camcattle) and dietician Carine Henry will
