DESCRIPTION:Abstract: Given the increasing frequency and impact of natural
disaster on supply chains it is timely to have a fresh look at the mitiga
tion capability concepts e.g.\, resilience and risk management. This talk
explores if there is a need for dynamic capability for mitigating against
natural disaster. Based on thematic analysis of 30 interviews of academics
 \, experts and practitioners\, the talk identifies 17 first-order themes r
elated to three theoretical dynamic mitigation capabilities: sensing\, sei
zing\, transforming/ reconfiguring. These capabilities serve as organizati
onal routines that protect the supply chain against natural disaster\, as
well as the capabilities to learn and improve the routines.
