DESCRIPTION:Reducing the potential impacts of climate change will require 
 two types of action — mitigation and adaptation. If we are to keep the r
 isk of disastrous climate change impacts low\, human activity will have to
  transform itself into a low carbon society. Current conventional policies
  are fundamentally inadequate. Policies to stimulate transitions to new lo
 w carbon technologies are needed. The possibilities will be discussed in t
 he context of energy use in buildings and transport.\n\n£1 entry fee for
