  and Q&A hosted by Cambridge UCU to discuss the Government’s Higher Educ
 ation White Paper\, its sweeping plans to turn universities into privatise
 d and marketised hubs for the 'knowledge economy'\, and more positively\, 
 how we can develop alternative visions of the value and future of higher e
 ducation in the UK.\n\nOur four speakers\, including two contributors to 
 ‘The Alternative White Paper for Higher Education’\, will discuss the 
 likely impact of the government’s proposed reforms to UK universities\, 
 the Teaching Excellence Framework\, the implications of the White Paper fo
 r underrepresented groups\, and how we might find a way forward. Each spea
 ker will deliver some introductory remarks\, to be followed by an open Q&A
