DESCRIPTION:Sandra is the first Professional Archivist at the Sedgwick Mus
 eum and has recently been sorting through the collection of documents of t
 he earliest days of the Sedgwick Club. The catalogue can now be discovered
  online http://archiveshub.ac.uk/data/gb590-sgwc\n\nThe Museum Archive com
 prises over 2000 boxes of unique and irreplaceable records - including the
  pencil sketches of Italian Artist Agostino Scilla (1629-1700)\, the field
  Notebooks of Adam Sedgwick (1785-1873)\, the photograph albums of Petrolo
 gist Alfred Harker (1859-1939)\, and the maps and slides of William Deer (
 1910-2009). One of the largest Archive collections is the Cambridge Svalba
 rd Exploration Collection\, detailing expeditions throughout the 20th Cent
 ury\, led by Dr Brian Harland (1917-2003). \n\nSandra will be talking abou
 t some of the treasures uncovered since 2010\, and the processes involved 
 in enabling access to archive records and their long term preservation for
  future generations. \n\n19th-26th November is the National 'Explore Your 
 Archive' campaign when a number of archive related events will be happenin

 ng a 'pop-up' event at the Museum on Saturday 26th November\, when members
  of the public can visit the museum and ask for advice about how to care f
 or their family archives.  \n\nAll welcome to attend\, free for members of
