DESCRIPTION:Advances in next-generation sequencing platforms have reshaped
the landscape of genomic and epigenomic research towards the understandin
g of roles of human transposable elements. Large consortiums such as the E
NCODE and the Roadmap Epigenomics have generated tens of thousands of sequ
 encing-based genome-wide datasets\, creating a reference and resource for
the scientific community. These data provide an opportunity to map the epi
genetic landscape of transposable element across many tissue and cell type
 s. In the presentation I will discuss tools developed for this purpose and
present some results from investigating regulatory roles of transposable
 elements.
