DESCRIPTION:Professor Mete Atatüre works in the Cavendish Laboratory at t
 he University of Cambridge and researches in solid-state implementations o
 f possible quantum technologies. In particular\, his research investigates
  the feasibility of emergent materials that offer clear advantages for qua
 ntum communications and sensing applications\, such as diamond and layered
  materials. He is part of the AMOP group in the Cavendish Laboratory and r
 uns a research group of about 10 PhD students and 5 postdocs. He is a fell
 ow of the Institute of Physics and the Turkish Science Academy. He has 65 
 publications. His talk will take you along the road of quantum technologie
 s come and take the journey with him.
