DESCRIPTION:Most horses that require veterinary care have issues related t
o lameness. The “gold standard” for imaging soft tissue is an MRI scan
\, but MRI can be expensive and horses have to be anaesthetised to fit the
ir legs into human scanners. 15 years ago Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging Ltd
started development on the world’s first (and only) standing equine MRI
scanner. Today\, these scanners are used at universities and equine referr
al practices in over 25 countries. Dr Steve Roberts is the technical direc
tor at Hallmarq and will discuss the creation and development of this uniq
ue scanner and the potential future advances and applications. \n \n \n
