DESCRIPTION:TRAF-interacting protein with FHA domain (TIFA) was first repo
rted by M. Kanamori et al. to activate NF-κB\, and it was recently shown
to be a key player in the NF-κB-driven innate immunity. In this seminar I
will discuss our recent reports on the mechanism and structural basis for
the function of TIFA in the activation of NF-κB\, as well as unpublished
results suggesting that TIFA functionally mediates the Aurora A-driven NF
-κB survival pathway in acute myeloid leukemia (AML)\, and that TIFA medi
ates innate immune response through assembly of NLRP3 inflammasome.
