DESCRIPTION:<notextile>\nC++0x is an effort to embody the ideals of C++\,
rather than a mere increment of C++98. This talk will illustrate C++'s gen
eral design principles\, and the language constructs that support them. Th
e description of C++0x is aimed at a general computer science audience rat
her than just at C++ experts. The focus of the talk will be the support fo
r the design and implementation of libraries\, using object-oriented and g
eneric programming techniques. Major language features discussed include c
lasses\, exceptions\, and templates. And the new (C++0x) facilities mentio
 ned include concepts\, initializer lists\, auto\, rvalue constructors\, an
d garbage collection. Prof Stroustrup will briefly summarize the state of
the ISO C++ standard effort\, and the additions culminating in C++0x.\n</n

Laboratory. He then worked at Bell Labs for 24 years\, before joining Tex
