DESCRIPTION:Ocado is the world’s largest dedicated online groceries reta
 iler.  Ocado vans tour the streets of towns and villages in the UK deliver
 ing groceries to anyone who wants to order goods online and have them deli
 vered to their home.  Paul Clarke\, the Chief Technology Officer and Direc
 tor of Technology for Ocado\, believes his company should be considered as
  much a technology company as Google or Facebook.  He will talk about how 
 by using technology he aims to disrupt the future of online grocery retail
 .  Projects that Ocado Technology deals with include a major move to cloud
  platforms\, which will involve a replacement of its large\, on-premise Or
 acle estate\, to experiments with smart vision systems and robotics.\n\nPa
 ul studied physics at the University of Oxford\, but computing has been hi
 s main career focus.  After working as an engineer for one of the big soft
 ware consultancies he started Torus systems in Cambridge with his friends.
   Following a spell as a consultant he moved to Ocado where he has develop
 ed the technology infrastructure which is so important to Ocado.
