DESCRIPTION:Dr Perle will be visiting the Sedgwick Museum on Monday 26 Feb
ruary. While here he will be able to display the skulls of some dinosaurs
that he has collected from Mongolia:\n\n * Erlicosaurus (complete skull
)\n * Segnosaurus (partial skull)\n\nMuseum Director Dr David Norman co
mmented: "These are two rather enigmatic dinosaurs that have been recovere
d from the Late Cretaceous\, and have attracted a considerable amount of i
nterest. In many respects they bear the hall-marks of typical carnivorous
dinosaurs (such as Velociraptor and Tarbosaurus - both of which hail from
the Mongolian Late Cretaceous). These two however are not out-and-out pred
ators: their teeth are rather small\, and not as adapted for tearing flesh
as would be expected. Indeed they seem to represent a group of ancestrall
y predatory forms that are experimenting with omnivory or herbivory as an
alternative way of life - fascinating evolutionary story (if true)."\n\nTh
e skulls will be on display in the Museum from 11:00 until 11:30 for this
 one day only.
