DESCRIPTION:It is now becoming possible to bring powerful genomic methods
to bear on the process of cancer drug discovery. This talk will illustrate
  1) the use of the Connectivity Map\, a large-scale effort to develop a co
mpendium of gene expression signatures of cellular state\, 2) the use of P
RISM\, a new multiplexed\, high throughput approach to screening cancer ce
ll lines for anti-cancer activity and resistance\, and 3) the use of cance
r models (cell lines and patient-derived xenografts) in discovery\, with p
articular focus on clonal drift in these models and the impact of that dri
 ft on drug sensitivity.
