35910.jpeg!\n\nScience Makers is a monthly event to discuss and build low-
cost\, DIY and open hardware for science and education.\n\nOpen source har
dware allows and promotes building and remixing of devices through sharing
designs and code. Combined with new manufacturing and fabrication technol
ogies like 3D-printing open hardware has great potential to boost hands-on
learning and scientific experimentation in STEM education. Not only are s
olutions lower cost but they are also customisable and no longer a black b
ox.\n\nWe'll hear from some projects focused on open hardware and educatio

plant electrophysiology in secondary schools\n\n• Matt Little from the C

for all ages\n\n• Amy Lai on OpenAFM - an open atomic force microscope
built by students at UCL and Tshingua University for use in schools.\n\n13

build some of the educational kits\, the following are guaranteed project
 s:\n\n• Plant electrophysiology boards\n\n• Ultrasonic bat sensor\n\nY
