DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will outline a set of desiderata for general 
 communication-based AI. I will then describe CommAI-env\, a controlled env
 ironment we are currently developing\, in which machines face a number of 
 simple tasks designed to trigger the sort of basic abilities that artifici
 al systems should possess in order to be able to interact with humans and
