DESCRIPTION:Gas is destiny for planet formation. The spectacular ALMA imag
 es of protoplanetary disks masquerade an embarrassing ignorance about thei
 r gas content. Estimates for the gas mass in the closest disk to us vary b
 y two orders of magnitude. I will present ALMA surveys that highlight this
  problem and discuss possible ways to reconcile the disparate measurements
