DESCRIPTION:A promising research field is the use of whole-body non-invasi
 ve optical and opto-acoustic imaging modalities to select the most effecti
 ve treatment for tumours. The speakers will discuss how a specific cell de
 ath probe\, C2Am\, can be used to detect the early responses of cancer cel
 ls to therapy using macroscopic imaging.\n\nAnother hot topic that will be
  presented is computational microscopy. Examples of how extended sensitivi
 ty and resolution can be achieved by using computational methods will be d
 iscussed\, together with new algorithms that increase the capability of fl
 ourescence microscopes and provide insight into the dynamics of molecular 
 complexes.
