DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will highlight with examples how bioinformatics
  can positively impact drug discovery and development in multiple therapeu
 tic areas. The focus will mainly be on drug target selection and validatio
 n but other opportunities will also be mentioned. I will show how genetics
 \, genomics or pathway information can be analysed but also how these larg
 e data sets can be managed and visualised. Scientific challenges will be d
 iscussed and ways of working with academia will be illustrated.
