DESCRIPTION:Over the last decade\, the level of control over cold atomic g
ases has improved to the point that atoms can now be used to simulate the
behaviour of electrons in realistic materials. I will present the progress
es that we accomplished in the last years in measuring the transport prope
rties of quantum gases. I will first present the first observation of quan
tized conductance for neutral particles\, together with some recent measur
ements where interactions between the particles play a strong role. I will
then discuss recent technical developments allowing for the observation a
nd manipulation of transport at the microscopic scales. These results open
perspectives for atomic physicists to address some long standing question
 s of condensed matter physics
