DESCRIPTION:Measuring coalgebras and measuring comodules have been availab
 le for a long time now as a means of generalising the concept of morphisms
  for algebras and modules respectively.  The universal property that descr
 ibes them makes them easy to deal with\, but not easy to calculate.  We st
 udied the concept of a pre-dual for algebras in the summer 2015 and for mo
 dules in the past summer. The pre-dual can be calculated explicitly in sui
 tably finite cases\, with intriguing consequences for number fields\, for 
 example.  The methodology even in cases which are not suitably finite sugg
 ests interesting analogues in more general algebras of structures familiar
  to geometry.
