DESCRIPTION:David Goldberg is the Co-founder and CEO of Founders Pledge\, 
 a programme where start-up founders commit to donate at least 2 % of their
  personal proceeds upon exit to charity. Set up only 18 months ago\, it ha
 s already raised $178 million in legally binding pledges of equity and is 
 growing fast\, recently partnering with Y Combinator. David firmly believe
 s in business as a force for good and will be speaking about the role Foun
 ders Pledge has to play in this process.\n\nThis event is hosted by 80\,00
 0 Hours: Cambridge and Giving What We Can: Cambridge. We will give a very 
 short introduction to Effective Altruism and there'll be a chance to hear 
 more about ethical career choices (we think David's is a great example) an
 d effective\, evidence-supported charities (which Founders Pledge cares ab
 out a lot).\n\nDavid will talk about his experiences setting up and runnin
 g Founder's pledge. He is a graduate of UCLA and has an MPhil in Internati
 onal Relations from Queens College\, Cambridge - he understands your fresh
 er's flu struggles.\n\nCome meet like-minded individuals who are keen on d
 oing good in the best way they can. There will be free drinks (alcoholic a
 nd non-alcoholic) and snacks.
