DESCRIPTION:John Prideaux\, US Editor of the Economist\, in conversation w
 ith David Runciman.\n\nJohn Prideaux joined The Economist as Political Cor
 respondent in 2004. Prior to this he wrote for The Economist\, the Financi
 al Times and the New Statesman as a freelancer\, and worked as a researche
 r in the House of Commons and the European Parliament. In addition to cove
 ring British politics\, he has spent time as India Correspondent in Delhi 
 and Finance Correspondent in London. In 2007 he was appointed Brazil Corre
 spondent in São Paulo\, where he wrote The Economist‘s special report 
 “Brazil takes off” in 2009. In 2010 he moved to London to take up his 
 appointment as Home-page Editor of The Economist online and in 2013 reloca
 ted to Washington\, DC to serve as Washington correspondent. He is now bac
 k in London in the role of US Editor.\n\n\nMr Prideaux has appeared as a p
 undit on BBC News 24\, CNN\, Fox News\, Sky News and ITV News\, as well as
  on BBC Radio 4 and NPR. He was educated at Cambridge University\, where h
 e won two academic scholarships\, and the Sorbonne\, where he was an Enten
 te Cordiale Scholar.
