 age of exciting and highly paid careers over? “Certainly not”\, says P
 iran Mazaheri\, a Chemical Engineering alumnus (1989-1993) and a Fellow of
  the IChemE.\n\nPiran’s career spans design engineering and project mana
 gement to operations and maintenance in the upstream\, midstream and downs
 tream sectors of the industry. He has worked in northern and southern Afri
 ca\, Middle East\, USA\, Netherlands and a variety of locations across the
  UK. His only career regret is to have never stepped on to an offshore ins
 tallation\, despite designing many!\n\nIn his talk\, Piran will give an ov
 erview of his career to date and provide an insight into the variety of jo
 bs available to Chemical Engineers within the hydrocarbon industry. He wil
 l also discuss what motivated him to remain in the industry and his vision
  of the long-term viability of a career within the industry.
