DESCRIPTION:In this talk we will consider optical flow on evolving surface
s which can be parametrised from the 2-sphere. Our main motivation is to e
stimate cell motion in time-lapse volumetric (4D) microscopy images depict
inguorescently labelled cells of a live zebrafish embryo. We exploit the f
act that the recorded cells float on the surface of the embryo and allow f
or the extraction of a two-dimensional image sequence together with a surf
ace parametrisation. The variational optical flow problem is then solved w
ith a Galerkin method based on tangent vector spherical harmonics. Finally
\, we present numerical results and discuss recent efforts.\nThis is joint
  work with Otmar Scherzer.
