DESCRIPTION:*Abstract*:\nDeep learning methods have attained state-of-the-
art performance in a range of tasks\, including image classification\, spe
ech processing\, and reinforcement learning. In this talk\, I will describ
e some of our recent work utilising deep learning techniques in the contex
t of mobile robotics\, focusing on scene understanding\, end-to-end tracki
ng of dynamic objects\, and learning path proposals and safe trajectories
from demonstrated data.\n\n*Bio*: \nDushyant Rao is a postdoctoral researc
her at the Oxford Robotics Institute (ORI)\, led by Profs. Ingmar Posner a
nd Paul Newman. The institute has a world leading reputation in mobile aut
onomy – developing machines and robots which map\, navigate through and
understand their environments. Most recently\, ORI’s technology was sho
wcased in Milton Keynes in the UK’s first ever public trials of self-dri
 ving cars.
