DESCRIPTION:In an era of deepening climate risk\, some 600 million Indian
farmers rely heavily on seasonal rains for their food and livelihood. Rese
arch Fellow Zareen Bharucha's work critically explores the adaptation prog
rammes that have tried to build resilience. Their critique will primarily
centre on the social construction of the 'crisis' of climate-driven water
scarcity\, and show how this construction has led to patchy\, partial and
short-lived solutions. \n*Free to attend\, open to all\, refreshments prov
