DESCRIPTION:Several tensions between experimental measurements and the Sta
ndard Model have been reported\, at least in the quark-flavor sector. Sho
uld these discrepancies mature into significant discrepancies\, they would
be evidence for new physics. In this talk\, I discuss several lattice-QC
D calculations (from the Fermilab Lattice and MILC Collaborations) that go
into the Standard-Model predictions for flavor-changing neutral currents:
particle-antiparticle mixing in $B$ and $B_s$ mesons and semileptonic $B$
decays mediated (in the SM) by penguins.
