DESCRIPTION:Technology roadmapping is one of the most widely used planning
  tools that support the development\, communication and implementation of 
 technology and business strategy. It provides a mechanism to help forecast
  technology futures and determine core technologies\, enabling the anticip
 ation of risks in acquiring them. Accordingly\, it has been increasingly a
 pplied within industry and has received considerable attention from both a
 cademics and practitioners.  \nDespite the popularity of technology roadma
 pping\, organisations are still facing various challenges in using their t
 echnology roadmaps effectively. In this seminar\, some of the efforts to t
 ackle such challenges and to move towards more advanced roadmapping proces
 ses are introduced for the era of roadmap 2.0. Specifically\, the followin
 g topics will be discussed: \n1) developing a technology-driven roadmappin
 g as a strategic tool for identifying new business opportunities based on 
 emerging technologies\; \n2) incorporating big data analysis into roadmapp
 ing process\;\n3) validating roadmapping results\; \n4) assessing roadmapp
 ing maturity level to provide guidelines for improvement\; \n5) dealing wi
 th complex relationships among roadmap elements\; and \n6) involving users
  directly during roadmapping processes. \nIn the seminar\, the insights ga
 ined from these attempts will be shared together with future research poss
 ibilities.
