DESCRIPTION:The interaction of flowing fluids with bodies -- sometimes com
 pliant\,\nsometimes active\, sometimes multiple -- constitutes a class of\
nbeautiful dynamic boundary problems that are central to biology and\nengi
neering. Examples range from how flexible structures like flags\nand leav
es interact with high-speed flows to how organisms locomote\nand interact
in fluids. I will discuss several interesting cases\,\nemphasizing how th
ey can be formulated mathematically to yield models\ntractable for analysi
s or simulation\, and how this work has combined\nwith experimental studie
 s.\n\n\n
