DESCRIPTION:This interactive workshop will introduce structured methods fo
 r innovation\, providing practical experience in generating novel ideas\, 
 discovering fresh perspectives\, engaging with others\, and working togeth
 er in making ideas a reality. This workshop will make use of established m
 ethods in innovation\, including Design Thinking and the Invention Cycle (
 T. Seelig). Techniques will be practiced in small groups. Methods for scal
 ing up these techniques to engage large crowds in the innovation process w
 ill be provided.\n\nThe one-day workshop will provide details and engageme
 nt in key innovation areas including:\n\n* Innovation Overview - Skills\, 
 Mindset & Principles\n* Creativity & Imagination - Define problems & exper
 iment with solutions\n* Innovation - Focus and Reframe to arrive at a nove
 l solution\n* Team Inspiration & Implementation - Make ideas a reality\n* 
 Open innovation - use of crowdsourcing software to scale up innovation\n* 
 Review & Open Discussion\n\nThe workshop will be in two parts (10.00am-1.0
 0pm\, 2.15-5.00pm)\, with lunchtime options in a choice of local cafés (a
 nd space for bringing your own).  The workshop is aimed at those who wish 
 to engage a small team or a large crowd in structured innovation\, in orde
 r to generate novel ideas and together make them a reality. This workshop 
 will be of particular interest to those working with large numbers (100s-1
 \,000s) of students\, staff\, or alumni.\n\nN.B.: The day is free for memb
 ers of the University of Cambridge\, and their invited guests.  Lunch and
