DESCRIPTION:How can the performance of an Olympic athlete be improved\, wh
 en they already represent the current limits of human movement? This is th
 e challenge presented to the human movement scientists working alongside e
 lite athletes and their coaches competing in World and Olympic competition
 s. This talk will discuss contemporary scientific theories of how and why 
 humans move the way we do\, and how these ideas have been applied to enhan
 ce the performance of elite athletes. Some of these ideas will challenge b
 eliefs of “ideal” or “model” movement techniques and shed light on
  how athletes of all abilities can improve their sporting performance.\n\n
 The talk is free and there will be cheese and wine!
