DESCRIPTION:Modern vehicles have sufficient levels of computing power and 
 communications capabilities to enable a range of new applications. These a
 pplications will involve the large-scale collection\, processing and disse
 mination of data\, in which vehicles may participate as sources\, processo
 rs or sinks.\n\nThe deployment of these applications is a challenge becaus
 e of the need to automatically determine which parts of the application ar
 e best executed on which processor. I will examine my approach to how this
  could be achieved and discuss the possible use of some program transforma
 tions that are of particular relevance to these applications.
