 ows that the notion of restricted volume for a big R-divisor plays a funda
 mental role in determining the augemented base locus.  I will discuss an e
 xtension of these ideas to compact Kahler manifolds\, and general (1\,1) c
 lasses.  Time permitting\, I will discuss some applications to the geometr
 y of non-collapsed limits of Calabi-Yau manifolds.  This is joint work wit
