DESCRIPTION:Clostridium difficile is an important human pathogen\, phage h
ave been investigated as alternative forma of treatment for the diseases i
t cases. However\, phages also have an important role in the modification
of bacterial genomes. In the case of C. difficile phages have been shown t
o modulate expression of virulence factors and have been implicated in tra
nsducing antibiotic resistance genes. In this talk I will review these pro
perties and how phage interact with the host genome.
