DESCRIPTION:Planet-hunter by night and Sun-chaser by day\, the HARPS-N spe
ctrograph has been operating with a new solar telescope feed since 2015 Ju
ly. I will report on the first year of observations and present my ongoing
investigation towards understanding the physical origin of activity-induc
ed RV variations.\nI use simultaneous\, high spatial resolution images fro
m the Solar Dynamics Observatory to reconstruct the line profile shape res
ulting from sunspots\, faculae and granulation. By comparing these reconst
ructed line profiles with the cross-correlation functions obtained by HARP
S-N\, I aim to identify a new proxy for faculae\, which are known to be th
e main source of activity variations through suppression of convective blu
 eshift.
