DESCRIPTION:Only 5% of men currently attend commercial weigh loss services
 \, despite over 65% of them being overweight or obese. Obesity it often se
 en as a womens issue and many of the programmes are set up with women in m
 ind. Men and women opperate very differently and the way we deliver servic
 es and advice should reflect this if we are to have any impact. Over the p
 ast 15 years I have run men's health services in some interesting places i
 ncluding pubs\, a barbers shop\, Harley-Davidson show room\, motorway serv
 ice stations \, truck stops and bus depots. It is interesting how men ofte
 n perceive themselves and their weight and this talk will highlight some o
 f the findings in my work.
