DESCRIPTION:Let G be a group and H a subgroup of G. We will present a crit
 erion for H to be convex in G for some left-order.&nbsp\; We will give sev
 eral examples of groups on which maximal cyclic subgroups are always conve
 x (for some&nbsp\;order). We will also discuss the orderability of some gr
 oups acting on trees. This is a joint work with W. Dicks and Z. Sunic.
