DESCRIPTION:This seminar aims to highlight how plant science academics can
  work with industry.\n\nProfessor Beverley Glover will highlight her resea
 rch in floral development and how she has worked with industry.\n\nRichard
  Boyle and Colum Donnelly from MM Flowers will discuss the cut flower busi
 ness\, their scientific challenges and solutions.\n\n\nMM Flowers was esta
 blished in 2007 to provide the leading UK retailers with a transparent\, s
 ustainable and innovative interface between the retailer & grower. MM Flow
 ers (part of the AMC Group) has grown into the UK’s leading\, integrated
 \, cut flower organisation and is part of the world’s most sustainable c
 ut flower business\; sourcing flowers from both grower-shareholders and ot
 her advanced cut flower growing operations around the world. MM Flowers ha
 ve invested in £31m in a state of the art packing and distri- bution faci
 lity in the UK that ensures that all the care in growing and shipping the 
 world’s best flowers is maintained through receipt\, packing and distrib
 ution of the finished bouquets. MM Flowers and it’s grow- er partners ha
 ve invested extensively in scientific development to provide solutions and
  drive positive changes from farm to vase.
