DESCRIPTION:Mosquitoes are important vectors of many human pathogens. Whil
e these are some of the most well studied insects on the planet\, we still
know surprisingly little about certain faucets of their biology. The beha
viour of mosquitoes is particularly understudied. We are interested in th
e behaviour of mosquitoes and its consequences for disease control and tra
nsmission. I will discuss work we have been doing to learn more about beha
vioural interactions in mating swarms and how infection may alter the beha
viour of mosquitoes. \n\nFor more information on Lauren's research\, pleas
e see: http://www.imperial.ac.uk/people/l.cator\n\nIf you want to meet wit
h Lauren Cator during her visit\, please contact Sinead English.
