DESCRIPTION:Group-theoretical modular categories is a class of modular cat
egories for which modular invariants can be described effectively (in gr
oup-theoretical terms). This description is useful for applications in co
nformal field theory\, allowing classification of full CFTs with given ch
iral halves being holomorphic orbifolds. In condensed matter physics it c
an be used to classify possible boson condensations. It also provides way
s of studying braided equivalences between group-theoretical modular cate
gories. The class of modular categories can be used to provide examples o
f counter-intuitive behaviour of modular invariants: multiple physical r
ealisations of a given modular invariant\, non-physicality of some natura
l modular invariants. The talk will try to give an overview of known resu
 lts and open problems.
