DESCRIPTION:After recapping the basics of the Quantum Hall Effect\, I will
  discuss a series of papers in which we try and map out the phenomenon a l
 ittle more carefully\, in language more familiar to high-energy physicists
 . This means understanding precisely the relationship between bulk field t
 heory models\, boundary CFTs\, ADHM-like matrix models and explicit quantu
 m mechanical wavefunctions using approaches motivated by SUSY field theory
  and string theory. We even find an interesting testing ground for a wide 
 class of new 3d dualities!
