DESCRIPTION:Our understanding of the early solar system comes in part from
studying meteorites. Over the last 10 years\, our understanding of the ma
gnetism of these rocks has provided a wealth of unique information regardi
ng the formation and evolution of our solar system and its planetary bodie
 s. Here\, I'll present an overview of recent paleomagnetic measurements on
a variety of meteorites and explain what these results can tell us about
the thermochemical evolution of planetary bodies both within and outside o
f our solar system. All colleges and disciplines welcome. Free wine and ot
 her refreshments available.
