DESCRIPTION:What will the future look like? Professor Glowacki’s researc
h will undoubtedly shape the future of industry\, health care and energy a
s he and his research group investigate applications of superconductors. \
n\nSuperconductivity is a phenomenon of exactly zero electrical resistance
and expulsion of magnetic flux fields occurring in certain materials when
cooled below a characteristic critical temperature.\n\nThey use a multidi
sciplinary approach to develop advanced superconductors for a range of pur
poses. \nProfessor Glowacki will be discussing the applications of superco
nductivity and cryoscience for energy in an ever-demanding world. Perhaps
superconductors will fuel our future? \n\nAll colleges and disciplines wel
come. Free wine and other refreshments provided.
