DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, I will introduce a metric on the space of group
 s. This metric\, motivated by a generalisation of Benjamini-Schramm graph 
 convergence\, turns out to be compact and has nice ties to finitely genera
 ted residually finite groups. We explore how the limits interact with othe
 r group properties by computing a couple of examples. There are potential 
 applications to a couple of open problems about pseudofinite groups\, whic
 h time permitting we will look at.
