DESCRIPTION:We explain a relationship between modern SDG\, and  the theory
  of some metric spaces which was advanced by Busemann in the years 1943-19
 70 (and which he called\, quite justified\,  "Synthetic Differential Geome
 try" !). Concretely\, we give synthetic account of some 17th Century  prin
 ciples\, due to Huygens.​
