DESCRIPTION:I will discuss some constructions of random measures via multi
 plicative cascades and Gaussian multiplicative chaos. In particular\, I wi
 ll be interested in the special case of Liouville quantum gravity\, where 
 the density of the measure corresponds in some sense to the “exponential
 " of a 2d Gaussian free field. I will talk about a new construction of thi
 s measure using “local sets” of the field\, which is based on the clas
 sical multiplicative cascades approach. This is joint work with Juhan Aru 
 and Avelio Sepulveda.
