DESCRIPTION:In this seminar\, I will discuss the evolution of intergroup r
elationships in humans -- why did intergroup relationships evolve in the h
uman lineage? When do intergroup relationships form: what are the relevant
social and ecological factors? How can we employ this understanding to in
form policy? \n\nI will combine results from fieldwork with the assistance
of horticulturalists in the Bolivian Amazon with a review of the ecologic
al selection pressures favoring inter-group tolerance across primates.\n\n
